LOU will recognize a barcode you scan so long as you have entered its UPC code into the appropriate UPC field on the SKU Profile in LOU. The scanner for your LOU Retail POS devices will recognize a wide range of barcode types. You can use the user manual to calibrate the scanner to recognize additional barcode types as necessary.
Create a Barcode
There are many barcode printing apps available, including several free options. Choose an app that works best for your barcode printing needs and barcode printer.
UPC in SKU Profile
There are a few ways you can add the UPC code to a SKU.
- When you create a SKU import, there is a field for the UPC code. You can enter the UPC code in that field when creating initial SKU imports.

- Manually creating a SKU allows you to enter the UPC information on the Profile box of the Create SKU pop-up.

- You can update SKUs that are already in your Inventory by either going to the SKU Profile and manually updating it or by using the SKU Mass Update Import tool.
