Troubleshooting Single Sign-On (SSO) for LOU Web

Changed Password Between June 1-11, 2024

If your LOU User Account was created in LOU before June 1, 2024 and you changed your password between June 1-11, 2024 you will need to do the following to sign in with your email address:

  1. Enter Email Address
  2. Click Continue
  3. Click Forgot Password
  4. Click Reset Password (at this time, do not use the other Sign In options)
  5. Go to your email to get the validation code and enter it.
  6. Enter a New Password
  7. Confirm New Password
  8. Click Reset Password

You’re all set! Next time you log in with your Email Address and Password, you should land right on the LOU Dashboard.

IMPORTANT! If you try to log in with the wrong password, after 20 failed attempts your account will be locked out for 60 minutes before you can try to log in again. We recommend using the steps above to reset your password after a couple failed attempts so that doesn’t happen.

 

LOU Account Created Between June 1-11, 2024

If your LOU User Account was created in LOU between June 1-11, 2024 you will need to do the following to sign in with your email address:

  1. Click Sign Up
  2. Enter your information as it exists in LOU.
    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. Email Address
    4. Password
  3. Click Continue
  4. Go to your Email and get the verification code that was sent.
  5. Enter verification code
You’re all set! Next time you log in with your Email Address and Password, you should land right on the LOU Dashboard.

 

Email Validation Required Every Time You Sign In

If you find that every time you sign with your Email Address and Password you have to go to your email and click the validation link, you can fix that by doing the following:

  1. Enter your Email and click Continue
  2. Enter your Password and click Continue
  3. Go to your Email and click the Validation Link
  4. Once successfully on the LOU Dashboard, go to My Account
  5. Change your Password

That’s it! Next time you enter your Email Address and Password to sign in you will not have to follow the verification steps again.

 

Google Account Not Recognized

In order to use Google to sign into LOU, the email address associated with your account in LOU must be the same one as your Google Account. If you are having trouble, check the following:

  • Confirm with your manager that the Email Address for your LOU User Account is the same Email Address you are using for your Google Account.

REMEMBER! Even if your Email Address is You@Company.com, it may be a Google Account. You can tell if you log into Gmail to look at your email.
