Factor4 Sell a Gift Card

 

To sell a gift card, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Gift cards should not be sold through LOUcommerce
  2. Gift cards cannot be purchased with cash because they are purchased through your Factor4 terminal.
  3. Customer pays fee for gift card through Factor4 in addition to amount of gift card.
  4. Gift cards cannot be used through the Customer Portal or LOUcommerce.
  5. Gift cards must be purchased separately from other items.

 

Sell a Gift Card through LOU Retail POS

  1. Start a Sales Transaction in LOU Retail POS
  2. Search Inventory to add the Factor4 Gift Card SKU to the transaction
  3. Process the Gift Card activation and purchase through your Factor4 virtual terminal. The Customer will need to complete the online application.
  4. Tap the hamburger menu in LOU Retail POS and select Convert to Order
  5. Enter a note indicating the gift card purchase and amount
  6. Open LOU Web
  7. Go to Sales Orders
  8. Open the Sales Order you just created
  9. On the SKU, click Actions / Update
  10. Change the Price to the amount of the gift card.
  11. Save
  12. Invoice the Order
  13. Click Payment
  14. Create a Payment for the full amount of the gift card
  15. Select Other Payment Method
  16. Choose the Factor4 Sales Payment Method from the dropdown
  17. Click Create
  18. Close out of the Payment Profile and return to the Invoice.
  19. Print the Complete Invoice for the Customer as a receipt.
